![]() For example, he spotted the holes that baby Coatis had dug along the trail and flagged that they would likely be in the area before we saw them. ![]() He is extremely knowledgeable (in addition to having very cool tattoos). David spotted every animal we saw way before I even could have noticed them (if I even would have noticed them) and he told me all about various plants and the rainforest in general, which I really appreciated. I would also note that I considered doing other tours (like the ATV or horseback riding) and although those would be cool and fun, I would highly recommend the hike because you actually get to see animals, experience the noise of the rainforest, etc.Īnd, even though you could theoretically do the hike on your own, having a guide is key. After the hike, you go to this nice warm river! I’m used to tours having “hikes” that are really just short walks and this was an actual hike with a great and interesting trail! Along the way, we saw, among other things, frogs, white faced monkeys, a little snake, and white nosed coatis (with their babies!)! Even though it was foggy at the top and we couldn’t see the volcano (it is rainy season after all) it was still an awesome experience and one I would recommend to everyone. ![]() This was such a great experience! David Tattoo was my guide and he was EXCELLENT! You start by hiking up to the volcano. View the hotel list on our checkout page to see if yours is included among the pickup points.
